I always bought gift certificates to McDonald's. Happy Meals aren't very expensive and it was a gift that did not clutter the house. It was used and gone.
Those were all great suggestions!! I left a comment on the Examiner too but I also think it would be good if teachers gave these suggestions out at open house because parents typically invite their children's classmates.
