Meme and Award

The fabulous and extraordinary Quirkyloon picked me (I feel so popular) for the Premier Meme Award.

Before I can display the award, I must share with you seven personality traits and then pay it forward to seven others.

I am not as inventive as Quirky, who decided to list 7 reason Paris Hilton should be her new BFF, but I'll try :)

Seven Personality Traits (that I realized I have by watching my monkeys behavior and wondering where the heck they got those traits?!?!?!):

1. The big monkey calls me today and says, "Mom. You said Stacee would pick me up at 10am. It's 10:03 and I'm still at home. Where is she?" I am a big stickler on time - I don't always have to be on time but if someone tells me they're going to meet me at a particular time, I will be pissed if they are two minutes late :)


2. The little monkey asked me why I thought I knew more than her just because I'm the mom and she's the kid. Mind you, THE LITTLE MONKEY JUST TURNED 5! I don't care how old you are - respect can be easily lost if you are not a good person. Also, age is not a sign of intelligence.


3. We have a pool, a trampoline, tons of games, a Play Station, etc... The monkeys are constantly asking me "where are we going next?" I can never sit still and do nothing (unless it's playing effing addicting Bouncing Balls on Facebook).


4. The monkey's say hi to everyone - including the creepy people in the cars next to us. I am a very friendly and outgoing person and can find someone to talk to in any room.


5. The big monkey is constantly looking for affirmation that what she's doing is right. Me too.


6. The little monkey is not afraid of ANYTHING and jumps in with both feet. I spent 2 months in Israel (without any family) when I was 17 and back-packed by myself through Europe after graduating from college.


7. Both monkeys have memories like elephants. The will remind us of everything we've told them we'd do, even in passing, that we ended up not being able to do. To this day, I still remind my parents about the time they took my sister to Disneyland without me (I was 5!).

I may as well give up now because I am FUBAR'd!!

The Wrong Feature

This is my Monday feature, "The WRONG feature".

5 things you think maybe be wrong, for one reason or another and 1 that you KNOW is wrong.
Is this wrong:

• Swine Flu Not Kosher in Israel (OK, more funny than wrong)
• I don't feel well enough to go and work out but will get up and drive to the bookstore to get book 5 of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series
• When I posted my Facebook status that I was making homemade chicken soup, I got a lecture from a girl I knew in childhood on the CORRECT way to make chicken soup!
• I won't pay retail on clothes for myself but will buy brand new books, read them once and then just give them away
• I am tying to eat healthy and then go and buy European dark chocolate and walnut candies (and tell myself that they are for the kids and husband only)

I KNOW this is just WRONG :

Speidi got married - shudder! How about we legalize same sex marriage and make it against the law for these two to continue their fake lives (I hate to even call what they do living)!

OK - Amy told me it was her :) I absolutely love her stories. Her husband is really funny too!

The rules: open the 6th picture folder on your computer, open the 6th photo and blog it. Write something about it. Then tag 6 more people to do the same.

This picture is from June 2007 and is of my older monkey. She was almost 5 at the time. She looks like a younger version of herself but even more than that, she looks like the younger monkey!! There are so many differences between them that I don't usually get it when people mistake one for the other. But here...wow!

This was at a birthday party for the little monkey's best friend (the brother of the big monkey's best friend).

I should really look at older pictures more often - thanks Amy for tagging me.

Now, to tag 6 people. Most are moms, who like me, have picture of their kids that they haven't looked at in years (in fact, most pictures will probably be of their kids if they are like me - but if not, that's OK too).

Keri, a new follower of my blog, has a wonderful blog called It Flickers Dimly. She tagged me for a meme. I am honored :)

So, without further ado:

The book laying right next to me on the bed is The Pagan Stone by Nora Roberts. It's Book Three of the Sign of Seven Trilogy. I LOVE Nora Roberts, and especially her trilogies.
