A 6 Day Weekend :)

I like my job. Really, I do. I work on a number of different projects. Many of them are things that are outside my normal realm of responsibilities, so I have to think outside the box. That being said, I have loved having long weekends!!

I really think that we would benefit from working 4, 40s (4 days a week, 10 hours a day = 40 hours) and having long weekends every week.

I was talking about that with some friends tonight and one of their daughters said, "Yes, but then you would want to a 4 day weekend, then a 5 day weekend, etc.."

Hmmm, that sounds pretty good :) Of course, the monkeys school would still be in session 5 days a week :)

Fail

I failed at doing nothing this weekend.

On Friday, friends came over and the monkeys swam for 5 hours. Then I went to a couple of grocery stores (like the Korean market, yum!) with a friend. At night, a good girl friend came over and we had dinner.

On Saturday, we went to the monkeys friends house in the afternoon. The monkeys swam for 4 hours. In the evening, we went to the park, had a picnic with friends and watched the fire works.

On Sunday, we swam at home in the morning. In the afternoon, we went to another friends' house. The monkeys swam for another 5 hours.

I didn't get to do nothing, but I did eat my weight in food, had great sangria that I made at friends' houses and enjoy some great company.

All in all, a GREAT weekend. However, one of these weekends, I definitely just want to do NOTHING!!

Girl Friends

I absolutely love my closest girl friends. They are there for me whenever I need. When I need to go out to eat, or for a drink, they are always ready - especially the ones without kids.

However, their weekends consist, generally, of waking up late, lounging around, running a couple of errands, and getting ready to go out.

MY weekends consist of 1 child droped off here, another child taken there, mommy mommy I want, grocery shopping to have food in the house to feed the kids, mommy mommy I want, play dates, or setting up play dates, and maybe a couple of minutes of down time!!! I am lucky enough to have a wonderful baby sitter, so I can go out at night. Of course, by 11pm I am yawning and looking at my watch! Yes, I do get made fun of, and I feel bad, but I have had a LONG DAY, and tomorrow starts the same cycle. Them - tomorrow means getting up late, lounging around and getting some errands done. Repeat every weekend....

Tomorrow is another recipe - is it wrong that I look forward to getting together so I can have an excuse to cook????
