Procrastination Again!

The Halloween edition:

  • The little monkey has not yet picked out her Halloween costume (we have like 15 at home to choose from - between Halloween's and dance recitals)
  • I only TODAY asked my mother-in-law to make the big monkeys Halloween costume (she's going to be Little Red Riding Hood).
  • I'm starting to think about dressing up or Halloween (but have no costume).

I'm sure I'm not the only one with these "issues", but am stressed out anyways!

Procrastination Again!

I'm blaming it on the fact that Labor Day was so late this year!!

I just realized today that the big monkey has her birthday party coming up NEXT weekend. And I am leaving for Las Vegas in the morning (for work) and won't be back until Thursday night.

The monkey has to hand out the invites ASAP!

So today I:
  • Booked the location
  • Bought Invitations (I went to Papyrus and 2 different Targets and then I spent and hour trying to figure out how to print on my invitations (after I figured out what size they were in the first place))
  • Printed the invitations 1 by freaking 1 to make sure that they didn't print crooked
  • Created an Evite for the non-school friends

I am EXHAUSTED!!! I just finished and have yet to pack for tomorrow mornings flight!

When I get back from my trip I will find party favors and book the catering! Eeeek!!!

Procrastination

It is June 1st.

For some reason, today has been a day of reflection. Today is the beginning of a new month. I have been slacking in MANY areas recently. I have been cooking less, working out minimum days instead of striving for more, not eating as healthy, letting things slide (like blog posts and coupon shopping).

I am choosing today to recommit. I do not know if I will keep up my dedication (I already had a small piece of cake today) but if I don't try, I have already failed (yes, that's way too deep).

Tonight I worked out a little harder that I have in recent months. I came home and found the file I was looking for. I went through the mail piled up from the last couple of days and threw away the junk mail. These were all tiny steps, but ones I'm hoping to build on.

I tend to get complacent, and then wonder why....
  • Why am I gaining weight...while I have cake several days a week and am only exercising a minimum number of days.
  • Why am I not cooking as often...as I get lazy and lay in bed instead.
  • Why can I not get control over my mail...as I let it pile up for weeks.
  • Why are certain facets of my life not moving forward...as I struggle to make some difficult choices.

So, I hope to make a dent in some of these issues in the next 30 days. I want to look back and feel like these next 30 have made a difference. Hopefully, this momentum will carry me past June, in to July and beyond.

Please remind me to post updates on some of my goals and wants.

Procrastination and Patience

Shouldn't these two concepts be polar opposites? In fact, I do believe they are polar opposites (trust me on this one, you don't have to look it up, because it's not like I'm talking out of my ass or anything).

How can I be such a study in contradictions?

I HATE it when I have to be patient. I will be patient if I absolutely need to be - but it stresses me out to be so.
I LOVE to procrastinate. I've been doing it since I was a kid.
I HATE to wait even 10 minutes for restaurants to make my food.
I LOVE to sit for 20 minutes after a meal just reading.
IT IS NOT THE JOURNEY, it's getting there as fast as possible to enjoy the destination!
I LOVE being up against a deadline and having full faith that I an pull something off much quicker than most other people!

Wow! I am an ODD duck! I shall teach my monkey's to do as I say, not as I do...nah, maybe tomorrow I will teach this to them ;)
