So This is Why I am Tired

I realized one of the reasons I get so tired. Since Saturday morning I have been to the following stores:

The Calabasas Farmers Market - I get all my Fruits and Veggies there
Rasputin Russian Market - I get my cold cuts for sandwiches, Russian candy, pickles, etc... there
Greenlands Korean Market - I get marinated kalbi beef, rice (they even have organic), green onions (we were BBQing) there.
Henry's Market - new market that opened up with some great sale items (like $.88 cherries, pineapples, etc..) and really great seafood (scallops, shrimp, salmon, etc...).
Ralphs - I get some organic produce and non perishable products with coupons there.
Pavillions/Vons - I get some organic produce and non perishable products with coupons there.

I guess my friend wasn't exaggerating when she said the following:

"My daughter loves the food at your house. I'm glad she's eating (she's very picky), but now thanks to you I have to go to 5 different stores"

Grocery Shopping

On Sunday night I did my grocery shopping at Ralphs (So Cal Kroger). Armed with my trusty http://www.grocerygame.com/ list I went and stocked up on snacks, TP, Tylenol and gum.

I really killed it, if I do say so myself :)

I spent $62.92 and saved $111.86 (I bought one more item than necessary so I returned it and got the money back so there are 2 receipts).

I am submitting this to The New Frugal Mom Let's Go Krogering post up for this week. I also linked up at The Grocery Cart Challenge. That mom is insane with how much she is able to do for very little money.

Grocery Shopping Again

Thanks in big part to this blog, I have re-discovered The Grocery Game. IT really is an AMAZING way to save money. It only takes a couple of minutes to check the lists and choose what you want to buy. Cutting out the coupons takes me 30 minutes (I keep each Sunday coupon insert whole). Printing coupons from places such as coupons.com takes another 10 minutes. Grocery shopping with the list takes about 30 minutes.

Seeing the total go down, down, down = PRICELESS

This week I save $83.61, and that includes the $26.99 extended edition of the High School Musical 3 movie (which has a peelie on it for free bread and cold cuts, I had a $10 coupon for the movie and I had manufacturers coupons for both the bread and cold cuts).

Lee, from MWOB, asked me about arranging my groceries. That's like the big win at the end of it for me. I can step back and see EVERYTHING I have bought. I'm a dork - I get a big kick out of it.

I've also linked up to The New Frugal Mom, who has a list of all the good deals at Kroger.

Grocery Shopping

Today my in-laws had the kids, and after my husband went to work, I had a couple of hours to myself. So, after relaxing for about an hour, I decided to go grocery shopping.

Armed with my "grocery game" list, I went to Pavilions (owned by Safeway). The "list" was really good this week cleaning products especially! Also, paper towels and toilet paper. Also, mushrooms were like $.88 a package (they have been over $2 a package in the past year).

With only 30 minutes of work, consisting of cutting out coupons, I saved $58.53, of which almost $20 was just coupons.
Not bad!

Therefore

I am a mom (although there ARE many other people who don't have time to grocery shop until 11pm). Therefore I am going to the grocery store right now - at 10:35pm.

Got back at 11:30pm - that included the grocery store staff running around making sure I had the right items for the Ralphs/Kroger Mega Match $5 off deal!

Not everything I bought was part of that deal, but 20 of the items were. The other items I still had coupons for.

Here is my haul:

Here is the length of the receipt:

And here is the amount I paid and the savings:

I am not only a mom but LOVE bargains and deals. Therefore I play the Grocery Game and don't need to find these bargains myself. I just print out the list, cut out the coupons and go shop :)
