I LOVE my parent and am happy when they are coming to visit, until they are actually here :) Then when they leave, I miss them again.
I am a whole mess of contradictions :)
This weekend actually flew by. Friday we went to the spa, Saturday they went and visited their friends during the day and then we went to the in-laws birthday on Saturday night. This morning we all made breakfast together (they were all blown away by my home-made waffles, if I do say so myself) and a couple of hours later, they left to drive back to San Francisco.
The monkeys ABSOLUTELY love my parents and really miss them when they are gone. It's very sweet to see them together. They love my parents in different ways - my dad is very strict but you can see the love pouring out of him for them and my mom is super lenient and just let's them do whatever they want.
Lucky for all of us they can still make these trips. My 69 year old parents will be back in May for the little monkey's 5th Birthday party!
G-d Bless them both (just please let my mom keep her opinions to herself).

Enjoy them while you have them. You will miss them terribly when they're gone (even the unwelcome comments and suggestions).
I am glad everyone enjoyed having them around. How wonderful they are still together (my parents are divorced) and able to make these trips to see you all.
Now your life can go back to normal whatever that is :)
My kids also adore my parents and my in-laws and they all drive me batty.
When we lived 11 hours away from my parents and they would visit, my hubs and I always made sure we had at least one night out and my parents would babysit. That didn't drive me batty! Now that we live a lot closer, I love sending my kids to their house for the weekend!
I'm the same way with my parents!!!
Nice to have parents that are close enough to visit, but not close enough to pop in at random...
Sounds like the visit went well!
We visited the Grandparents this weekend too! Only, we went to their house. 6 hour drive both ways, but so worth it...
You did well. I always loved mine when they were further away. Its natural - we've grown up and have our own families and enjoy the freedom of being adults in our own right. But you get with a parent and you get boxed up again as a child.
