It turns out I’m a TOTAL planner, which my friends have been telling me for years.
I had our schedule planned out to the hour at Sea World. We saw show after show all morning and afternoon. It was super cold and windy outside so I decided we would go back to the hotel from 3:30pm-5:15pm and be back in time for the evening Shamu Show at 5:30pm.
I didn’t count on MY MOTHER! Doesn't she LOOK sweet and innocent!
I was going to take a 30 minute nap and asked her to wake me at 5:15pm. Of course like any mother, she saw how soundly I was sleeping and didn’t wake me. I woke up at 5:25pm and FREAKED OUT! My plans! They were ruined.
Why yes, I am a bit of a drama queen, why do you ask??
So we decided to do dinner before the 7:30pm show. We went to this REALLY FUN PLACE called Corvette Café. It’s this 50s style diner where the waitresses have bouffant hair-do’s and Elvis roams around. The waitresses throw straws at you and sing too!
I usually don’t get milk shakes, but the friend that recommended this place said they were amazing. She was right. My peanut butter-banana milk shake was phenomenal!! The monkeys’ favorite thing – the bazooka bubble gum they give out at the end.
Thanks to the popularity of the place, and the wait, we missed the 7:30pm Shamu show too!
Oh well! We’ll be back to Sea World soon. We bought the one day passes which turn in to 2009 season passes. We’ll definitely see Shamu then.
As much as I LOVE to plan, apparently, I guess the saying is true:

I'm a planner too, but my husband isn't at all and it's always a major clash to get anywhere on time. I usually have to tell him that we need to be somewhere a half hour before we actually do. So I totally feel your pain on this one. Sounds like you had a blast anyway!
I am a planner but use my plans as "guidelines" and don't necessarily stick with them "to the T". I am totally ok if the plans mesh into something else.
Oh Julia - this post made me laugh! I USED to be a planner but I threw that out I think when #2 came along and now with #3, I basically am just hanging on for dear life! : - ) Isn't it nice though when plans change? It means unexpected cool things happened....
Seems like you're having a blast with your family and I can NOT believe you are finding time to BLOG! :-)
See you in '09! FOR SURE! : - )
I loved your pictures!
Sounds like a good time.
I guess your mom still remembers the rule, "never wake a sleeping baby". LOL
I'm starting to learn, slowly, that's it's not always about the destination. I guess it's something to build on in 2009.
From the looks of the kids, it looks like your plans going awry didn't stop them from having a good time!
I wish I was a planner! I used to be-a very long time ago! Looks like you guys had a great time-I want a milkshake now!
