The Local, Seasonal Food Controversy

Alice Waters, a very famous chef, is in the middle of a controversy.

She is THE advocate for knowing where your food comes, eats locally and eating what is in season.

In many respects, I agree with her. However, in this economy it is difficult to practice eating in such a way due to resources.

I am attaching an interesting round table discussion between Alice Waters, Anthony Bourdain and Duff Goldman.

What do you think?

Hi there!
That's a really interesting subject. I'm not sure what to think...

Thanks for sharing it really makes you think about your eating. It also makes you realize that Farmers need to find a way to bring the prices down.
I would love to live in A world that we could feed the children two great meals and a snack at school but in reality we can hardly afford to properly educate them at this point, where is allllll the money going to come from???? Parents have to take some responsibiltiy for raising and feeding their children properly too.
I know it Takes a Village but THE VILLAGE can't do it ALL.

Goodness, I am so sorry I went on and on.

Hello there,

I hope you’re well.

I’m working with a not-for-profit organisation – Do The Green Thing: www.dothegreenthing.com

They’ve just produced another one of their innovative short videos to inspire people to lead a greener life: www.youtube.com/watch?v=P9dYnkjA6tQ

The video is aimed at raising awareness and encouraging people to eat seasonal produce.

We’re looking for people to host it and make comments, and Sometimes Lucid seems like an excellent place for this!

Please contact me at: nikolai_at_thisismission.com with any questions.

Have an excellent day!

Thanks

Nikolai
