San Diego

We're going to San Diego for a couple of days during Spring Break.

Anyone have tips and deals on where to stay? We're going to the normal amusement parks and would like to stay close by.

It depends on your budget, of course. For you and the kids, I suggest the Embassy Suites San Diego Bay. It's across the street from the seaport, near the boardwalk (Star of India, USS Midway, etc), and not far from the zoo. The rooms are large enough for four of you and the breakfasts are not all that bad. The happy hour includes ice cream for the kids - or it used to.

My favorite place to stay is the Paradise Point Resort, but I'm pretty sure it isn't a budget place....stayed there way back when finances weren't as much of an issue as they are now. We love the Wild Animal Park. I also love parking near the Hotel Del Coronado so we can play on the beach, eat on the pool deck and pretend we're staying there! My husband used to spend a week down there every month. I'm so jealous! Enjoy your trip!

I love Paradise Resort. I've stayed a couple of times, and they're having a great rate going on for next week. I think that may be what we go with.
I'm sure I'll blog while I'm there (in almost 2 weeks).
